Our classes are all geared towards the children having fun with Drama and learning skills, whilst overcoming barriers and making friends.
As the children grow into our Teen and Advanced classes they start to work on more specific skills and theatre practice, covering all aspects of theatre style and structure. Often these classes will compliment a student’s GCSE or A-Level Drama courses, while also providing those who don’t take those subjects with an opportunity for creative expression and a place to stretch themselves. The classes foster an attitude of collaboration and teamwork, and provide a great way to create lasting friendships, with many members of our advanced groups having been with us for several years.
We have a ‘no pressure to perform’ policy, meaning that whilst the opportunity to perform is there, children can and do take other roles, especially as they move up the school, eg: Stage Management, Tech and Directing. We encourage the use of devising at all levels, using children’s own material where possible.
