What we offer

We have a firm background and knowledge of group dynamics and use this to help children shine in their own particular skill. We think the processes and experiences that surround the arts are as important as the performances, and we actively seek to encourage participation in all areas. Our classes are built around children’s different abilities and are a unique blend of styles. Some classes such as Creative Drama encourage students to use their own imagination, ideas and confidence as a starting point, expressing their physicality and developing the ability to express a range of emotions in the theatrical space; while others, such as Musical Theatre and Tap/Jazz involve instruction in specific techniques and may be more performance-based. We also have strong links with the local community and frequently participate in local events.

Please feel free to contact us to discuss which class(es) might best suit your child.

Aims

Established in Brighton in 2004, over the years we’ve had the pleasure of seeing the children we’ve taught, some of whom are still attending Drama Queens, grow in confidence and place their roots in the creative arts. Our aim is to introduce the dramatic and creative arts to children at a very young age and help to nurture and enhance each child’s natural ability for self-expression, creativity, confidence and talent. We provide all this in a community atmosphere, open to all personalities.

Mission

Drama Queens provides a friendly nurturing environment that enables children to maximise their strengths. While fully supported by our expert pastoral care and tuition, each child is guided through an individual creative process. While we can and do provide training for children who would like a career in the creative arts, we are just as happy to coach those who want to have fun, meet new friends and learn life skills. As we’ve said for years ‘it’s all about the journey!’

Safety and Security

While our classes are intended to be fun for all involved, we take the safety and security of your children very seriously. Drama Queens’ teachers carry enhanced DBS and first-aid certificates, and the venues we hire have full Public Liability insurance as do our teachers. However, your children must be supervised before and after class as we cannot accept responsibility during those times.
